Location: FS8 Hyde Park, London, Ontario
Event Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026
Opportunity Type: One-Time Charity Fundraising Event
Who Can Apply: Fanshawe and Western students, aspiring content creators, photographers, videographers, and local creatives.
About the Event
Pilates for a Cause is a community fundraising event taking place at FS8 Hyde Park in London, Ontario, on December 5, 2026.
The fundraiser is being organized to support a family in Colombia who lost their home following a devastating earthquake in August 2026.
FS8 Hyde Park has generously donated its studio space and a coach to help bring this event to life. Throughout the day, the studio will be hosting an open-house-style fundraiser, featuring fundraising activities, raffles, and a dedicated 18-person Pilates class, with all proceeds from the fundraising class going directly toward supporting the family.
We’ve also been fortunate to receive support from Canadian brands and local businesses contributing products and prizes to help make this event special.
The Volunteer Opportunity
We’re looking for 1–2 creative and enthusiastic volunteers who would love to gain hands-on experience in event photography, videography, and social media content creation while supporting a meaningful cause.
This is a great opportunity for students or aspiring creatives who are interested in building their portfolios, gaining experience working with real events and brands, and creating content in the fitness and wellness space.
What You’ll Help With
Depending on your interests and experience, responsibilities may include:
* Capturing candid photos and videos throughout the fundraiser.
* Photographing the Pilates class, participants, studio atmosphere, and fundraising activities.
* Creating engaging short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and social media.
* Capturing behind-the-scenes moments, sponsor products, and goodie bags.
* Helping put together a short event recap or highlight video.
* Providing a selection of edited photos or videos after the event.
Volunteers can focus on photography, videography, or both, depending on their skills and interests.
Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:
* Enjoy photography, videography, or creating social media content.
* Have an interest in fitness, Pilates, wellness, or lifestyle content.
* Are creative, reliable, and enthusiastic.
* Have access to your own camera or smartphone for capturing content.
* Would like to gain real-world experience and build your portfolio.
Professional experience is not required! We’re happy to welcome students who are just starting out and looking for opportunities to develop their skills.

While this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity, we would love to support your creative development by offering:
* Hands-on experience photographing and filming a real community fundraising event.
* Opportunities to create content featuring Canadian and local brand sponsors.
* Permission to use approved photos and videos in your personal portfolio.
