Opportunity Description:

Job Overview: Jake’s House seeks an Art Instructor to lead an in-person workshop in Lucan! Our  Legends Mentoring Program is growing, and we are looking to invite an art teacher to lead a painting workshop for the participants at Jake’s House. The ideal candidate has experience working with children and individuals affected by autism and in a teaching capacity for a painting class. Your passion for arts and the ability to encourage participation and enable social connections within a group will ensure success. Art Instructor Duties: Design a fun and creative painting activity for various participants, including individuals and families affected by Autism. Commit to providing quality instruction sensitive to the needs of the individual and diverse participants. Connect and maintain professional relationships with participants and mentors during the workshops. Motivate students with words of encouragement. Requirements: An interest and passion for art. Art teaching experience is not mandatory. Friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills. Highly energetic and able to use your voice to keep people motivated and engaged. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is considered a strong asset. Ability to lead a workshop on June 3rd, 10th, 17th, or 24th from 1-2pm.
