Our volunteer team is the foundation that lets our Peer Support program offer fun events and activities for persons with disabilities. These events take place all over London, and they include everything from kayaking, to art workshops, to museum trips, and more.We offer a safe, supportive environment that can meet the needs of a broad range of people. We are happy to work with experienced volunteers, and we are very happy to train new volunteers. One of the core commitments we can make to you, as a volunteer, is that we will pay close attention to your time with us, from onboarding, to placement, to your eventual exit. Many of our participants have diverse needs surrounding mobility, sensory processing, and communication. We will work with you to help you understand specific tools that will help you to meet such needs in an effective, thoughtful way.Professional presentation and time management. Our volunteer roles are public facing roles, just as much as they focus on delivering services to our participants. We will help you to understand the best way to showcase your strengths while working with the public as a professional. We will also take time to show you ways to develop your time management skills, including prioritization under pressure and task delegation.A strong professional reference that speaks to what you have done in specific terms. If you leave the volunteer program in good standing, we want to make sure that you have something concrete to show for it. A written letter of reference from a registered non-profit that has a track record of doing good for the public can be the difference between a job offer, and a job application that was ignored. We are looking for volunteers to help out with our annual 5k run in support of Bereaved Families. This is a great opportunity for high school students to get hours, families to volunteer together or anyone to help out in the community. Positions will include course Marshalls, water stop volunteers, and finish area helpers. Hours are from 6:00-8:30 pm on Friday July 17th in the downtown area.

The MS Bike – Grand Bend to London, July 25th - 26th.MS Bike is a two-day cycling event where every kilometer ridden helps raise funds and awareness for the 90,000 Canadians living with multiple sclerosis (MS). A morning or afternoon social group/event that promotes health and wellness, social interaction and often includes sharing a meal together. Volunteers help plan, grocery shop, cook, serve a meal, set up/clean up and encourage conversation. Not all locations require set up/clean up. For this role, we are looking for volunteers who have experience working in a kitchen and who have their Safe Food Handler's Certificate, or the equivalent in experience.

Join our Friendly Visiting Program and connect one-on-one with an older adult through weekly phone calls or in-person visits. Just 30 minutes to 1 hour of your time per week can help reduce loneliness and create lasting connections. Visit times are scheduled flexibly between you and your matched client, making it easy to fit into your week while making a big impact!
