We are a registered non-profit incorporated under the Independent Living Philosophy. The Independent Living Philosophy works to unite persons with disabilities with the resources they need to meet their needs on their own terms. Doing so promotes agency, or the ability to make plans and carry them out. It also promotes efficacy, which is the view of one self as a person who can follow through on their plans. Both traits are critical to the psychological well-being of the individual. Independent Living Centers are based around core services that are selected to meet the needs of the community. Independent Living, London and Area is based around the Peer Support Program and Direct Funding. Peer Support offers a variety of engaging activities and events that are designed to reduce barriers to participation for the participants. Direct Funding is a provincially mandated program that allows a person with a disability to act as the direct employer of their caregiver. Our organization is a professional environment that prides itself on maintaining a friendly, community oriented team. If you reach out to us today, we would love to talk to you about what it is we do, and how you can be involved.
Izzat For Her is a youth-led menstrual equity initiative focused on improving access to period products, reducing menstrual stigma, and promoting dignity through education, advocacy, and community action. Our work aims to make menstrual products more accessible in everyday spaces such as schools, community centres, shelters, and other public or community settings. We also create educational resources, organize product drives, support awareness campaigns, and engage young people in meaningful volunteer and advocacy opportunities. Our goal is to move beyond awareness and create practical, reliable solutions that make menstrual access feel normal rather than exceptional. Izzat For Her welcomes volunteers interested in community outreach, events, education, advocacy, partnerships, social media, and menstrual product access initiatives.

Humana Community Services is one of the most highly regarded providers of children’s mental health services in southwestern Ontario. As a licensed and accredited children’s mental health agency, with over 50 years as a service provider, we offer a wide range of services to support children, youth and families coping with a mental health challenge. Together, through a standardized screening and intake process, we assess the young person’s needs to collaboratively develop individualized treatment and service plans that focus on their abilities and areas for improvement. The standardized Child and Youth Mental Health (ChYMH) assessment system developed by interRAI (an international collective of researchers and clinicians from over thirty countries) provides a coordinated approach to the delivery of children’s mental health care across agencies. The assessment allows us to prioritize safe practices in an effort to help reduce the severity and frequency of harmful behaviours. (Humana, https://www.humanacs.org/children-youth-mental-health).
