Our organization focuses on addressing a number of challenges faced by the immigrant community in London. Our primary goal is to help individuals become productive members in the London Community. We focus on four (4) key areas:
- 1) youth development,
- 2) integration of new immigrants
- 3) mental health support,
- 4) and cultural education.
We help youth build connections to the community and become productive in life by providing mentorship and support on school work, and career planning. We support settlement of newcomers to the city and provide guidance for securing housing and jobs. Our organization believes that supporting individuals at the grassroots level is important for them to become productive members of the Community.
The London Cross Cultural Learner Centre (CCLC) is a community organization that exists to provide services and support to newcomers and to promote intercultural awareness and understanding. Our vision is to build a more welcoming and just community where newcomers can succeed. Since 1968, our agency is the longest-serving London organization supporting cultural exchange, community education, and newcomer settlement services and support. Settlement support for government-assisted refugees includes accommodation and reception in Jeremiah's House Reception Centre and Josephās House; settlement supports for GARS, permanent residents, and all other eligible newcomers include orientation services, paraprofessional counseling, language assessment, and referral, community networking connections, and activities, information and referral, document translation, interpretation and language support, intercultural services and resources, job search and employment supports.
The Children's Aid Society of London and Middlesex is a registered charity mandated by the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services of the Government of Ontario. Our mission is to work collaboratively with families and communities to promote the safe and healthy development of children and youth. We are a non-profit, volunteer driven Christian organization. We take donated goods and turn them into cash. We take those net-profits and send them to our joint ministry partner Bible League Canada to help fund programs in over 40 countries worldwide.
