The Communications Representative Position includes but is not limited to the following tasks:-Phone call follow-ups with vendors, sponsors and other contacts.Volunteer will work 1 weekday each week (Same weekday each week) within the hours of 9AM-5PM (hours may change per week as per the volunteer's schedule) and for a total of 4 continuous hour shifts. You may pick what day a week you work but same day each week.This is a virtual position but employee should live within London, Ontario. You’re in the right place.Results Canada is now accepting applications for its Education and Advocacy Fellowship Program, a 5-month hands-on opportunity to build your leadership, communication, and advocacy skills while generating the political will to end extreme poverty.Open to individuals aged 18 and above across Canada, Fellows engage virtually with peers to deepen their understanding of global health and poverty in low- and middle-income countries, write letters to the editor, raise awareness on social media, and engage with federal decision-makers. Results is an advocacy nonprofit that believes in mobilizing everyday people (our volunteers) to generate the political will to end extreme poverty in low-and middle-income countries. We focus our work on global health, access to quality education and economic opportunities. We direct our energy and efforts at government decision makers like party leaders, Members of Parliament and senators because they have the power to improve policies and make the monetary investments needed to end extreme poverty. We also raise awareness by writing letters to the editor (LTEs) and op-eds, using social media, fundraising and more. Oftentimes the first step is putting these issues on the radar — and keeping the pressure on. It might seem like a small step, but it all adds up into impact. commitment: 1 year minimum, 1-2 hours per week on average support structure: Volunteers (virtually) meet in local groups on a monthly basis and rely on their group leader(s) for guidance. Attending other virtual calls and webinars led by Results staff is recommended. Nous concentrons notre travail sur la santé mondiale, l’accès à une éducation de qualité et l’inclusion économique. Nous concentrons notre énergie et nos efforts à mobiliser les décideurs et décideuses politiques comme les chef.fe.s de partis, député.es, sénateurs et sénatrices, car ils et elles détiennent le pouvoir d’améliorer les politiques et de faire les investissements requis pour éradiquer l’extrême pauvreté. Nous faisons aussi de la sensibilisation en écrivant des lettres ouvertes aux journaux, en utilisant les médias sociaux, en collectant des fonds et bien plus. Souvent, la première étape est d’attirer l’attention sur ces enjeux et de les faire connaître — et de maintenir la pression.
