We support 18 different sports with over 400 athletes.Volunteer Opportunities: Team Manager and Assistant Coaches for Youth 5 Pin BowlingTime Commitment: 2 hours/week Wednesdays - 6:00-8:00 pm - ASAP to April 21 2027Location: Fleetway 40, 720 Proudfoot LaneFleetwayAssistant Coach role: This is a recreational group for athletes up to age 21 of all abilities. Our Assistant Coaches collect money and write receipts each week. They are there to encourage and cheering the Bowlers. In this program basic bowling skills are taught, building community with/ for athletes.Team Manager role: The Team Manager will help support the Head Coach by taking weekly attendance, collecting funds from athletes, organizing a local tournament if applicable, communicating with athletes if practice is cancelled and other general administrative duties.For more information contact our Volunteer Coordinator atlondon.volunteerco@specialolympicsontario.ca

We support 18 different sports with over 400 athletes.Volunteer Opportunity: Assistant Coaches for Alpine SkiingTime Commitment: 2-3 hours/week Mondays - 6:15 - 9:00 pm Jan 4/27- Feb 22/27Location: Boler MountainThe role: Our program is not a learn to ski program. Athletes must be independent skiers with an interest in racing. Coaches do not necessarily need to have a racing background just be competent skiers themselves. Coaches are expected to be able follow instructions given by the head coach to teach athletes certain skiing techniques on areas they need to work on. At times as a coach becomes more comfortable, they may be asked to take more than one athlete on the hill at a time. A knowledge of bocce is not required as this role is administrative and requires organization and attention to detail. You are required to be onsite on Tuesday evenings to take attendance, other communication may occur via email. Assistant Coaches will be involved with team building and will be required to lead drills when tasked by the head coach. Hockey/floorball experience is NOT required, but a willingness to participate is highly recommended and encouraged. As this is a Competitive league you would provide advice to the Athletes.
