Special Olympics Ontario - London
Our vision is that sport will open hearts and minds towards people with intellectual disabilities and create inclusive communities. Volunteer Opportunity: Assistant Coach – Floor Hockey C Team Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week October 20, 2025- April 13, 2026 Monday evenings, 630-730 pm at Clarke Road Secondary School The role: The Floor Hockey C team/program is going to be a mid-low level competitive Floorball program. The sport is new to the community and Canada. It’s the next evolution of hockey based sport for special Olympics. Assistant Coaches will be involved with team building and will be required to lead drills when tasked by the head coach. Hockey/floorball experience is NOT required, but a willingness to participate is highly recommended and encouraged. Special Olympics Ontario/London is dedicated to enriching the lives of Londoners with an intellectual disability through sport. We support 18 different sports with over 400 athletes. Volunteer Opportunity: Assistant Coaches for Powerlifting Time Commitment: 2 hours/week Sunday’s 8:30-10:00 am Sep 7/25-Jun 28/26 Location: West London Crossfit, 689 Oxford St. W. The role: Our focus is getting our lifters working on the two basic lifts bench press and dead lift. We will be looking at adding the squat lift for those athletes wishing to train in that lift. The squat lift requires more supervision for safety purposes.
