Special Olympics Ontario - London
Special Olympics Ontario/London is dedicated to enriching the lives of Londoners with an intellectual disability through sport. We support 18 different sports with over 400 athletes. Volunteer Opportunities: Assistant Coaches for Active Start Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week Wednesdays - 6:00-6:40 pm ASAP to April 29/26 Assistant Coaches for FunDamentals Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week Wednesdays - 6:50-7:30 pm ASAP to April 29/26 Location for both: Hillcrest Public School, 1231 Fuller St. London The role: This program is about physical literacy, learning about taking turns, listening to their coaches and playing as a team. As an assistant coach, you come in and help the athletes through the warm ups, different games, skills, drills. The younger group focuses on basic movement skills, throwing, catching, kicking etc, while the older program begins to work on different sports after getting familiar with the program and equipment. Loveyourself Canada
LoveYourself Canada is a self-care, mental health and wellness non-profit that uses media and events to spread awareness about self-care. We are looking for some ongoing volunteers to help with our daily operations and annual projects! Volunteer Opportunity: Assistant Coaches (4 needed) – Pickleball Time Commitment: Eagle Heights Public School Wednesday 6:15-8:15 Jan 7/26 - May 27/26 The role: Pickleball is a new sport for the London area athletes and so the coaches will be teaching and assisting the athletes with the rules and basics of the game. Pickleball knowledge would be helpful. Assistant coaches also assist in team building and working with the athletes to have fun.
