Typically, players on this team can safely field a ball, throw and sometimes hit. Hitting is not as important as being able to field a ball (or at least safely react when a ball is hit toward the athlete). Our team practices once a week and usually only plays games in tournaments or if a 'friendly' can be arranged with another team. Our volunteers need first and foremost, to be able to work with athletes with exceptionalities. After that, having some softball skills are an asset, especially pitching knowledge or experience.
